Larger Law Enforcement Presence This Weekend

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department and the Alabama State Troopers have a larger than normal presence this weekend in the eastern portion of the County. Chief Deputy, Josh Summerford told the County Commission on Monday their department would have overtime deputies working county roads 8, 126, and 185 more than normal due to expected increased traffic at the Indian Mountain ATV Park. He also said the State Troopers would have a DUI Task Force would be working the area as well. The increased traffic expected is due to a Country Music Concert being held tonight at the ATV Park with Country Music Artist Brantley Gilbert performing along with others.

The County highway department also closed the portion of County road 8 from the intersection of county road 185 to the Georgia State Line.
