Sand Rock softball picks up three wins in Albertville

ALBERTVILLE – Class 2A, No. 3 Sand Rock picked up three wins in a softball tournament at Albertville’s Sand Mountain Park on Friday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Gardendale 13-8, held off Glencoe 3-2, and beat Arab 4-1.

In the win over Gardendale, Katelyn StClair went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. EllaGrace Hood was 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs. Jadyn Foster tripled, scored a run and had three RBIs. Emma Sipsy tripled, walked, scored two runs and had a RBI.

Aliyah King collected a hit, walk, two runs and a RBI. Bailey Kilgore contributed a hit and a walk. Lacey Barnette walked and drove in a run. Peyton Johnson scored two runs. Zoey Handy and Molly Lay both scored a run.

Hood picked up the win after working four innings. She surrendered four earned runs on six hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

In the win over Glencoe, StClair and Foster both picked up a pair of hits and scored a run apiece. King came away with a hit and two RBIs. Sipsy had a hit and a RBI. Hood walked and scored a run.

Foster earned the win after tossing six innings. She gave up two earned runs on two hits with a walk and 11 strikeouts.

In the win over Arab, StClair contributed two hits, including a double, with a walk, a run and a RBI. Jadyn Foster had a hit and drove in a run. Sherina Foster walked twice and scored twice. Hood finished with a hit.

Jadyn Foster claimed the win in the circle. She scattered an unearned run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.
