Lady Warriors go 3-0 in Sand Mountain Park softball tournament

ALBERTVILLE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors went 3-0 in a softball tournament at Sand Mountain Park in Albertville on Friday. They defeated Spring Garden 15-0 in three innings, Pisgah 4-1 in six innings, and Sardis 5-0 in five innings.

In the Lady Warriors’ tournament opener against Spring Garden, Abby Lea had three hits, a walk, scored four times and drove in a run. Emma Hill collected had two hits, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Audrey Haygood had two hits, two runs and a RBI. Macy Lea added a pair of hits, a run and two RBIs.

Lanie Williams doubled, walked and drove in three runs. Grayson Tucker tallied a double, two walks and a run. Anna Walker came away with a hit, a walk, a run and two RBIs. KarLee Jolly finished with a hit and a run.

Bristol Bass picked up the win in the circle. She tossed all three innings, only giving up a double to Maggie Jarrett and a walk to Avery Steward and Kayley Kirk. She also had three strikeouts.

Against Pisgah, Williams tripled, walked and had a RBI. Abby Lea doubled, walked and scored two runs. Raechel Russell collected two walks and a hit. Macy Lea had a hit and a RBI. Haygood had a hit and Jolly scored twice.

Bass once again earned the win in the circle. She allowed an earned run on two hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

In the win over Sardis, Macy Lea had a pair of hits, including a double, with a RBI. Abby Lea, Williams and Tucker each belted a triple and scored a run each. Williams and Tucker also drove in a run. Hill and Russell both managed a hit, a walk and a run. Haygood finished with a hit.

Abby Lea earned the win after tossing a one-hitter. She walked four and finished with 11 strikeouts.
