CENTRE – Emma Hill scattered four hits, two walks and 10 strikeouts. She also had a hit and scored a run in helping the Cherokee County Lady Warriors rally for a 3-1 softball win over Fort Payne on Thursday.
Raechel Russell went 2-for-3 with a double for the Lady Warriors. Lanie Williams had a hit and drove in a run. Audrey Haygood had a hit and scored a run. Abby Lea came away with a hit and a walk. Bristol Bass drove in a run and Samantha Stubbs scored a run.
The Lady Warriors were trailing 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth. That’s when Cherokee County pushed across all three of its runs. Hill then held off the Lady Wildcats in the top of the seventh for the final.
