Patterson’s overall performance lifts Cedar Bluff softball past Gaylesville

GAYLESVILLE – For the second time in as many days, the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers jumped out to an early lead on Gaylesville and cruised to an area softball win. The Lady Tigers won Tuesday’s game by the final of 17-2 in four innings.

Reece Patterson led Class 1A, No. 4 Cedar Bluff (11-12) at the plate and in the circle. She went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, four runs and three RBIs. In the circle, she scattered two earned runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Rylie Walker added a homer and a double with two runs and four RBIs. Haley Allen had two hits, including a double, with a run and two RBIs. Za’Niya Kyle contributed two hits, including a double, with two runs and a RBI.

Mattie Payne posted two hits, a walk, three runs and two RBIs. Natalie Baty contributed two hits, a walk, two runs and a RBI.

Ciana Smith doubled, walked and scored a run. Kylie Vadon also doubled, scored a run and drove in two more. Harlie Nelson had a hit, a run and two RBIs. Jaycee Cagle and Kaylyn Vadon both finished with a hit.

Shonda Epps delivered a hit and drove in both runs for Gaylesville. Sierra Holbrook and Emma Givens both added a hit and a walk. Holbrook also scored a run. Sydney Smith finished with a hit and scored a run.
