ANNISTON – Jaycee Glover had a hit and scored the game’s only run on Jenna Calvert’s ground ball in the bottom of the fifth inning, lifting Piedmont to a 1-0 victory over Jacksonville in the Calhoun County Softball Tournament at Woodland Park on Tuesday.
Cacey Brothers and Ava Pope had the only other two hits for top-seeded Piedmont (16-7).
Emma Grace Todd tossed a one-hitter with three walks and seven strikeouts to earn the win in the circle.
The Lady Bulldogs will play White Plains at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
