Gaylesville falls short at Victory Christian, 19-16

PELL CITY – The Gaylesville Trojans were oh-so-close to capturing their first football win of the season on Friday night at non-region opponent Victory Christian, but the fell short 19-16 to drop to 0-5 on the season.

The Trojans held an 8-7 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Victory Christian (3-3) rallied for the win. Keylon Higgins led Gaylesville with 116 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. Kyler Bradley also ran in for a touchdown.

Quarterback Tanner Eads completed 8-of-19 pass attempts for 79 yards.

Gaylesville hosts Woodville on Friday.
