Cedar Bluff’s Walker shuts down Sylvania

CEDAR BLUFF – Jordyn Walker surrendered an earned run on three hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts in leading the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers to a 7-1 softball win over visiting Sylvania on Monday.

Mattie Payne homered, walked and drove in two runs for the Lady Tigers. Reece Patterson went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Emma Haney and Natalie Baty both contributed a pair of hits, including a double, with two RBIs.

Harlie Nelson had two hits and scored two runs. Walker added a hit, a walk and two runs. Haley Allen and Caitlin Slayton both finished with a hit.

The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the second to cruise to the win.

Cedar Bluff hosts Gaylesville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
