21 Year Old Arrested For Murder Of A Missing Marshall County Woman

A 21-year-old Horton woman was arrested in Panama City, FL on Wednesday for the murder of a Marshall County woman who was reported missing Monday.

Marshall County sheriff’s officials say Judith McElroy Carranza’s body was found near Little Cove Road at Cove Springs Road in Etowah County late Tuesday night.

Elizabeth Dawn Austin was arrested in Panama City and is awaiting extradition to Marshall County. She is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Sheriff’s officials say even though the Carranza’s body was found in Etowah County, authorities believe the crime was committed in Marshall County.

The Department of Forensic Science responded to the scene where the body was found and the investigation is ongoing.
