A woman was found unresponsive at a home in Cloudland on Tuesday evening.
According to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader the home where she was discovered didn’t belong to the woman, and no one lives full-time at the location.
She was found by someone who had come to check the property for the owner.
It’s unclear how long the woman had actually been there; investigators believe that she had been assaulted somewhere else and then brought to the location and left.
Sheriff Schrader stated that the woman’s body did show signs of trauma, adding that some wounds appeared to be several days old.
The victim, whose name has yet to be released, was rushed to an area hospital by Redmond EMS for treatment.
