Highway 411 Wreck Claims Life of 87 Year Old Rome Woman

Rome Wreck - 87A two-vehicle crash on Highway 411 claimed the life of an 87 year old Rome resident early Wednesday afternoon.

According to Lt. Chris DeHart with the Rome Police Department, a Honda Accord was in the process of turning left out of the Tractor Supply parking lot, when it was struck by a Toyota Avalon traveling eastbound.

The Honda then left the roadway, going down an embankment.

The driver, identified as Virginia Horn, was rushed to Floyd Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 1:50pm. The driver of the Toyota, Nancy Taylor of Euharlee, was also hurt, however her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening.

According to the accident report, no charges will be filed in connection with the accident.
