Lamar Black, age 83, of Centre passed away Thursday September 2, 2021 at his residence.  Lamar was born on July 7, 1938 in Dekalb County AL., to the late Bill Black and Pearl Lee Fannin Black.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War while serving in the Army. He retired from G.E. after 34 years. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Lanolian Black, James Dillard Black, Mary Ruth Taylor, Billie Chamless, Saville Ann Daniels.

Survivors include his wife: Rovine Latla Black; children: Richard Lamar (Shannon) Black, and Melanie Lynn (Richard) Wright; grandchildren: Dominic Black, and Valerie Lynn Wright; siblings: Lawrence Edwin Black, Pearline Faye George, Betty Jean (Robert) Almond, Barbara Burrows.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 4, 2021 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Lawrence Black officiating.
