American Red Cross Seeking Donors to Help Combat Severe Shortage Following Fourth of July Holiday

The Fourth of 4th Holiday heightened the need for blood donors across the U.S. – and, the American Red Cross is currently asking everyone to roll up their sleeves and help overcome this severe shortage.  Chris Hrouda – President of Red Cross Biomedical Services – says teams are working around the clock to meet the blood needs of hospitals and patients distributing about 75,000 more blood products than expected over the past three months – just in order to meet demand.

On average, across the nation, every two seconds, someone needs blood.  Schedule your appointment to give blood or platelets – by using the Red Cross Blood Donor App at RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).  All blood types are needed.
