Centre, Leesburg and Sand Rock Firefighters responded to the report of a fire in a multi-story, multi-unit apartment building at Pineview Crossings off of the Bypass in Centre on Wednesday night.

 

Upon arrival, units found heavy smoke escaping a unit on the ground floor. However, the sprinklers had activated and residents had exited the structure.

 

Upon making entry, personnel found NO fire and did not have to spray any water because the sprinklers had done their job. There was water damage from the sprinkler and minimal fire damage to only one unit. 

 

The Centre Police Department and Floyd EMS also responded.
