According to DeKalb County Superintendent Jason Barnett, area residents should beware of someone who has recently been calling claiming to provide technical support on computers or Chromebooks to help with remote learning for students.
The scam artist is an imposter, and is not associated with the DeKalb County School System in any way.
Barnett said the DeKalb County Board of Education does not send any technicians to homes and all students will receive Chromebooks at school.
Barnett has notified the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and has gone on Facebook to put out a warning; he says investigators are looking into the matter.
