J.R. GRIMES, age 89 of Centre, passed away Friday, July 17th at his residence.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, July 20th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Hosey and Dr. Tony McCain officiating; burial will be at Cherokee Memory Gardens. 

Pallbearers include Matthew Grimes, Steven Holden, Will Flynt, Randy Baker, Joe Nowak, and Derrick Kiser.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Smith Grimes; son, Chuck (Rhonda) Grimes of Sand Rock; daughters, Susan Grimes of Birmingham, Beth Grimes Frazer of Fort Payne; brother, James H. (Charlotte) Grimes of Centre; grandchildren, Emily Frazer, Trey Frazer, Amanda (Steven) Holden, Halie Grimes, Matthew Grimes; special friends, Mike Flynt, Travis West, and Billy Dale.

Mr. Grimes was a native of Cleburne County, the son of the late Chester Lewis and Mable Harper Grimes and was a member and deacon of Moshat Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Moshat Baptist Church or the family will accept flowers.
