A Centre woman is behind bars following a pursuit with officers on Thursday afternoon.
Cherokee County Chief Deputy Josh Summerford said that the pursuit began after Investigator Jeremy Stepps attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 411 near County Road 45.
The driver of the vehicle refused to stop leading officers on a pursuit into Floyd County, Georgia where Cave Spring Police and Floyd County Officers joined in the pursuit.
Summerford said that the driver of the vehicle was finally taken into custody inside Floyd County and charged with Felony Eluding.
The suspect has been identified as Rebecca Borders of Centre – Summerford said that during the course of the pursuit Borders tossed drugs out of the window of the car, which was recovered by deputies.
