A Rainbow City woman was fatally injured in a single-vehicle accident on Friday (July 19th) in Etowah County.

According to information in a news release from Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Public Information Officer Chuck Daniel, 49 year old Kala Camper Toney – who was a passenger in a 2004 Toyota Tundra – was killed when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned, some four miles northeast of Gadsden on Tidmore Bend Road just prior to 4:00 that afternoon.

The driver, identified as 34 year old Toni Ann Johnson of Attalla, was hurt in that crash, and transported to an area hospital for treatment,

That wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
