Marshall County Man Told Police He Ran Because “He Was In A Hurry To Feed And Water His Hogs”

MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) – The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office has alerted media to a drug arrest with a twist that happened last week.

On April 11, deputies patrolling the area of Martling Road reportedly observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the road. They said as the deputy approached the car, Gary Wayne Rowell fled on foot and into an open field.

Deputies say when they finally caught him, he stated the reason he ran was because “he was in a hurry to feed and water his hogs.”

Deputies say they found an undetermined amount of crystal meth on Rowell. They said he then told them the pants he was wearing did not belong to him.

Rowell was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $2,500.
