Jerry C. Pearson, age 88 of Sand Rock passed away Wednesday, March 13th at Cherokee Floyd Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Saturday, March 16th at Sand Rock Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hosey officiating, burial will follow in Sand Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 PM Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers include Mike Daniel, Keith Daniel, Larry Pearson, Jerrett Pearson, Lake Gilbert, Thomas Liles, Jeremy Pearson and Mark Brown. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Butler and Mack Starling.

Survivors include his wife of almost 67 years Marceline Pearson of Sand Rock; son, Harold (Shelba) Pearson of Sand Rock; daughter, Patricia ( Randy) Liles of Anniston; daughter –in-law, Frances Pearson; grandchildren, Mandy (Jason) Brittain, Jerrett (Debbie) Pearson, Thomas (Melissa) Liles, Jeremy (Delanie) Pearson and Jenna (Michael) Wright; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild

He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Pearson; brothers, Lamar Pearson, L.D. Pearson, Foy Pearson; sister, Ermadine Daniel.

Mr. Pearson was a native of Cherokee County and the son of the late CM and Myrtle Pearson. Jerry received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University. He was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and also enjoyed his cattle farm and farming. He loved his community where he took pride as the treasurer of Sand Rock Cemetery Fund. He was a member of Sand Rock Baptist Church and served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and a member of the Round Mountain Masonic Lodge.
