There have been some rumors circulating regarding a crack that has developed at Weiss Dam. We have been in contact with County EMA officials about the situation.
Probate Tim Burgess said that any rumors about the damage at the dam are untrue.
Burgess said that EMA officials reached out to Alabama Power officials this afternoon and an APCO spokesman has confirmed that there are no cracks in the Weiss Dam.
Burgess said APCO confirmed to Cherokee County EMA officials that their operation is running normally.
