According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, four Georgia residents were arrested on Sunday after being caught looting from flooded property at the Three Mile Campground area on County Road 31. Deputy Seth Rochester arrested 19 year old Andrea Renee Evans of Hiram, Georgia, 36 year old Alisha Farr Zimmerman of Hiram, 51 year old Michael Edward Wilhelm of Hiram and 30 year old Aaron Joe Johnson of Dallas, Georgia.
All four suspects were taken to the Cherokee County Detention charged with Theft of Lost Property 4th Degree and were later released after posting bond. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said “Our people are not very happy when they find someone who has taken someone else’s property. Especially under these circumstances.”
Sheriff Shaver said he has extra personnel assigned and working. He is asking that everyone stay out of flooded areas and off of the lake until further notice. Sheriff Shaver thanks the First Responders for their dedication and hard work throughout the community during this difficult time.
