Cherokee County School System Looking At Switching To A Voice Over IP Phone System

 

The Cherokee County Schools system is moving forward with the installation of VoIP (Voice over IP) phone service, a move that will save the system substantial amount money.

During their meeting on Tuesday, the board heard from Technology Coordinator Cassandra Lindsey about the change.

Also during the meeting a presentation was made to Sarah Richardson (pictured above) who was awarded the 2019 Emerging Leader Award.

Richardson also made a presentation for a Pre-K Science Enhancement Grant.

The board also approved the 2019/2020 Academic & Work Calendars and declared an Alignment Lift at the Cherokee County Career & Tech Center as surplus property in addition to approving a bid for a new lift from Southern Automotive which was the only bid received.

Resignation – Rena Johnson, Special Education Paraprofessional Nurse with Bus Aide responsibilities

Classified Placements – Debbie Chastain, Special Education Paraprofessional Nurse with Bus Aide responsibilities and Leanna Martin, Countywide School Nurse

Supplements – Josh Bates, $1,115 for mowing and maintaining softball field at Sand Rock School and Jeff Norris, $1,115 for mowing and maintaining baseball field at Sand Rock School

The next regular meeting of the Cherokee County Board of Education will be Thursday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Board Office in Centre.
