An Etowah County woman was fatally injured in single-vehicle accident occurring over the weekend in Calhoun County. According to Assistant Calhoun County Coroner Jay Bowden – Mary Denise Benefield, age 24 of Attalla – lost control of her car ran off the roadway and hit a tree.
That accident took place around 8:00 Sunday morning on Rocky Hollow Lane in Webster’s Chapel. Benefield was reportedly seven months pregnant.
That accident remains under investigation.
