Portion Of Highway 35 Shutdown For Several Hours On Saturday Night Due To An Overturned 18 Wheeler

A portion of Alabama Highway 35 just north of Highway 273 in Blanche was shutdown for several hours as crews worked to remove an 18 wheeler that left the road and flipped on its side on Saturday night. According to reports the driver of the rig was fortunately not injured.

The Broomtown Fire Department, Alabama State Troopers, Cherokee County EMA Officials and a clean up crew from Fagan’s wrecker service responded to the scene. It took crews well over five hours to remove the vehicle and clear the road of debris.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
