Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Receives $24,000 Grant from Governor Kay Ivey

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has recently been awarded a grant from Governor Kay Ivey through the Alabama Department of Economic Development, with those funds – in the amount of $24,000 – allowing the Office to acquire two new patrol vehicles; one for Deputy Daniel Money and one for Deputy John Sentell.

Governor Ivey said “The brave men and women of our law enforcement agencies put their lives on the line each and every day to serve and protect their communities,” adding “I am pleased to help them obtain the equipment to enable them to do their jobs effectively and safely.”

Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says he appreciates the support from Governor Ivey, ADECA, and the County Commission in this project.  The Alabama Department of Economic & Community Affairs is administering those grants from funds made available by the U.S. Department of Justice.
