SAND ROCK– The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents and businesses to check surveillance footage as investigators review reports of overnight vehicle break-ins.
The reported break-ins occurred near County Road 36 and Sand Rock Avenue. Investigators are looking for suspicious activity, people or vehicles that may help with the case.
Authorities said nearby cameras may contain useful information, including footage from locations where no break-in occurred. Therefore, residents and business owners should review security cameras, doorbell cameras and other available footage from overnight.
Anyone who finds possible evidence should save the footage immediately. Otherwise, recording systems may automatically delete or overwrite it.
Anyone with relevant footage should contact the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office at 256-927-3365.
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the community for its cooperation. In addition, officials asked residents to share the request with others living or operating businesses in the area.
