An Etowah County man has been arrested and charges are pending for his involvement in the death of 51 year-old Myron Henson, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Glenn Wade Gidley, 25, of Gadsden, was arrested at the intersection of Appalachian Highway and Macedonia Road, Coates Bend community, after he allegedly shot Henson and then fled the scene.
A 9-1-1 call was made at approximately 8:23 pm on Thursday, from a residence on Phyllis Drive, stating someone has possibly been shot at the neighbor’s property. When Deputy Kevin Overstreet arrived on scene, he began CPR on Henson. Members of the Coates Bend Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department arrived and transferred Henson to A-Med Ambulance where he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The body will be transported to Huntsville where an autopsy will be performed.
A clear motive has not yet been determined. However, witnesses say Henson and Gidley were in a verbal argument before the shot was fired.
The investigation is ongoing.
