Emergency Crews Respond To Three Vehicle Accidents In The McCords Crossroads Area

Units with McCords Fire Department, Cherokee EMS, Redmond EMS, and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of US Hwy 411N and County Road 29 just before 9:40 Sunday morning.
 
According to Chief Rich Lindsey, upon arrival McCords Engine 55 reported a total of 5 injuries with at least two of those being serious in nature.
 
A total of 4 victims were transported by Cherokee EMS and Redmond EMS to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.
 
US Hwy 411 and County Road 29 were shut down for a short period of time while emergency crews worked to treat and transport patients.
 
At approximately 12:20, a McCords Firefighter reported a two vehicle head-on collision taking place on County Road 34. Fortunately it appears that on one was injured in that accident.
 
A short time later at approximately 12:30, McCords Firefighters also responded to a report of a single vehicle accident at the intersection of County Roads 45 & 18 with one person possibly having been injured in that accident. Chief Lindsey told WEIS Radio that one of the occupants of the vehicle had possibly suffered a medical emergency just prior to the accident. That individual was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
 
Alabama State Troopers were called to the scene of all three accidents, we will have additional details when the ALEA Accident Report is complete.
