ANNISTON– Logan Chase Turner, 28, received a 15-year federal prison sentence for methamphetamine trafficking and firearms offenses.

U.S. District Judge Corey L. Maze imposed the sentence, U.S. Attorney Phillip W. Williams Jr. announced Thursday, Nov. 5. Turner pleaded guilty in June to conspiring to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute it. He also pleaded guilty to possessing methamphetamine with intent to distribute it. Turner also admitted possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

According to the plea agreement, federal agents began investigating Turner’s drug trafficking operations in December 2025. The 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit later obtained authorization to search his residence in January 2026. During that search, officers seized more than 300 grams of methamphetamine. They also seized a Llama 1911 .45-caliber handgun and drug paraphernalia.

Turner’s three prior felony convictions in Calhoun County prohibited him from possessing a firearm. Those included fentanyl trafficking and attempted assault in March 2023. He later received a conviction for promoting prison contraband in July 2024.

Federal authorities then charged Turner in April as part of a Homeland Security Task Force investigation into drug trafficking in east Alabama. Williams said the sentence holds Turner accountable and reflects cooperation among law enforcement agencies targeting repeat offenders and drug trafficking operations.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case with the 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorney Allison J. Garnett then prosecuted the case.
