Mrs. Evelyn Twilley Godfery, age 79, of Centre, Alabama, passed away Sunday May 28, 2017 at her residence.

Evelyn was born September 20, 1937, in Cherokee County, Alabama a daughter of the late E.O. Twilley, and Willie Hammond Twilley. She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church and formerly a member of New Nazareth Baptist Church for many years, she was a member of the Easter Star, and was employed by Wal-Mart for 20 years, and later was employed by Georgia School For Deaf where she retired. Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters, Marvine Ferguson, and Virginia Kite, nephew, Mike Ferguson, and niece, Iris Samples.

Survivors include her husband, Leon Godfery, daughters, Karen (Jim) Nesbit, Centre; Carol Lambert, Centre; grandchildren, Jonathan Lane, Chris Studdard, Jemery Studdard, Tiffany Evans, Jessica Nesbit. great grandchildren, Finley Lane, Adeline Lane, Hunter Studdard, Logan Studdard, Faith Evans, and Brock Evans.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday June 1, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Paul Talley, and Rev. Roger Kisor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM on Thursday, Lee Salman, Ricky Dale Jennings, Stanley Rogers, Rev. Roger Kisor, Ernie Ferguson, Bobby Don Rogers, and Ladon Kisor.
