Stormfront Blows Through Cherokee County Early Wednesday Morning

Heavy rain combined with high winds toppled trees across Cherokee County just after 8:30 Wednesday morning, leading emergency crews to venture out to clear roadways; reports of minor flooding across some roadways were also coming in around the same time and there was also a report of storm damage in Sand Rock – where the roof of a home was apparently blown off.  Fortunately, it appears no one was hurt in the incident.

A large tree was also toppled, narrowly missing a home located on Auburn Street, just off of Main Street in Centre; the tree came so close to hitting the home, it pulled an awning off the side without actually damaging the structure itself.  Again, luckily, no one was hurt.
