Thursday Night Power Outage Caused by High Winds and Falling Trees

Approximately 800 Cherokee County residents were left without power on Thursday night, after a large tree fell during heavy rains and took out a three-phase line on Highway 9 going toward Piedmont, shortly after 6:00.

That outage affected service all the way back to the Country Club and Ellisville areas.

Sarah Bright with Cherokee Electric informed WEIS Radio News that several work crews in just under four hours were able to restore power to all affected areas, adding that the Co op greatly appreciates the patience of their customers during the disruption.
