Mrs. Billie Brisendine

Mrs. Billie Brisendine, 82, of Fort Payne, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at her home.   She was born in Dekalb County on April 29, 1934 to the late Wallace and Ruth Cagle Freeman. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church.   She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and nana.

 

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church with Dr. John Screws officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 until 6 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, it was Ms. Billie’s request that contributions be made to Second Baptist Church, 1021 Grand Avenue North, Fort Payne, AL 35967.

 

She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, H.G. “Chubby” Brisendine; four children, Kathy Maynard, Sandy and Doug Davis, Kevin and Danita Brisendine, and Karen and Eric Jordan; brothers, James Freeman and wife, Betty and Robert Freeman and wife, Betty; sister, Eloise Patterson and husband, Othell; grandchildren, Jeff and Lissa Maynard, Sara Maynard, Chase Brisendine, and Hunter Brisendine; and great-grandchildren, Kalaya Williams and Justice Maynard. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Wayne Maynard.

 

Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
