Gadsden Man Arrested On Charges Of Felony Trafficking Oxycodone And Possession Of Synthetic Drugs

After receiving tips from the community, Deangelo Marbury, 29, of Gadsden was arrested on a felony warrants for trafficking in oxycodone and unlawful possession of synthetic drugs 1st degree that resulted from a vehicle pursuit from February 10, 2017.

On February 15, 2016, Agents received information that Marbury was staying at a residence on Vimy Ridge Rd in Gadsden. As officer’s approached the  residence, Marbury took off running from a vehicle parked in the yard. After a short foot pursuit, Marbury was taken into custody without further incident.  Further investigation resulted in the seizure of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a load Glock 9mm handgun from the vehicle Marbury ran from. The handgun was verified stolen thru Jacksonville Police Department. This case was made as part of cooperation efforts between the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Gadsden Police Department, and the ECDEU to address citizen complaints of crimes committed in their areas.

Marbury was arrested and transported to the Etowah County Detention Center were he remains under a $58,500 cash bond on all offenses.  Additionally, Marbury is charged with two counts of attempting to elude, unlawful possession of marijuana 2nd, non support, and receiving stolen property in the third degree. Marbury has several prior drug convictions in the past.

The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Gadsden police Department and the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.

 The arrests  were based on Probable Cause and they are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
