A Christmas Eve crash claimed the life of a Heflin woman along Alabama Highway 46.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report, a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 28 year old Melody Hope Alred, left the roadway at around 1:15pm and struck a number of trees.
The crash occurred approximately nine miles southeast of Heflin,
That report indicated that Alred wasn’t wearing a seatbelt; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
