Ellisville Mobile Home Appears to Be Total Loss After Friday Morning Fire

Firefighters work beside a smoke-filled mobile home during Friday morning’s fire on County Road 14 in Ellisville.

ELLISVILLE– A mobile home in Ellisville appeared to be a total loss following a fire Friday morning, Oct. 30. Firefighters responded around 10 a.m. to the 5900 block of County Road 14.

Crews from the Spring Creek, Ellisville, and Centre fire departments worked to bring the blaze under control. No one was home at the time, and a neighbor checked to make sure no one was inside.

Firefighters first used saws to cut through the side of the home, creating openings to ventilate the structure and reach the fire. They later entered through a door and conducted an interior attack, eventually bringing the blaze under control.

Atrium Health Floyd and Cherokee Electric Co-op also responded to assist at the scene.

The cause was not immediately known and remains under investigation.
