Russian Ambassador to Turkey Attacked by Gunman

iStock/Thinkstock(ANKARA, Turkey) — Russia’s ambassador to Turkey was reportedly attacked on Monday by a gunman in Ankara, Turkey’s capital.

Ambassador Andrey Karlov’s condition was not immediately clear.

According to Russia’s state news agency, TASS, witnesses said Karlov was shot in the back by a lone gunman after he gave a speech at the Museum of Modern Art.

Russia’s foreign ministry said the ambassador was wounded and hospitalized.
