Cherokee County Man Shaken Up in Highway 9 Accident with Log Truck

A Cherokee County man was shaken up during a two-vehicle accident on Highway 9 Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Cedar Bluff Police Department accident report – Gary Gordon – driving a 2008 F250 Ford, pulling an empty horse trailer – was struck from behind by a log truck – belonging to McCullough Logging of Gaylesville, just after 4:00pm near the Country Store.

The impact destroyed the horse trailer and Gordon was transported to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries. Gordon’s son, Seth, was a passenger in the Ford at the time of the accident; fortunately, he was unhurt.

The driver of the log truck, Randall Stancil, also escaped injury.
