An Attalla man has been arrested in connection with a theft of property case in Etowah County.
According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin 34 year old Clifton LaKeith Gross stands accused of stealing a 1983 Datsun pickup from a residence on Copeland Gap Church Road in Attalla.
Unfortunately for Gross, Deputy Kenneth Ragan was at the home making out the report when he drove by in the stolen vehicle.
The deputy quickly pulled the vehicle over, and took Gross into custody on a felony count of 1st Degree Theft of Property.
Gross also allegedly trespassed on property located in the Egypt community the same night that he stole the pickup truck, resulting in charges of 1st Degree Trespassing and Menacing – both of which are misdemeanors.
Gross was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center with bond set at $6,500.
