Mr. David Dwight Stancil, 68, of Douglasville, GA died Wednesday, January 29, 2014, in Austell, GA.
Mr. Stancil was born August 18, 1945 in Rhinehart, AL, the son of the late Chester Lee Stancil and Flora Bradley Stancil.
He was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church.
Mr. Stancil was retired from Anasteel, where he was employed as a truck drive.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Donald Stancil and Lisa Stancil; six brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Stancil; daughter and son-in-law, Melisa Singley and Dwayne Hubbs; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Annette Stancil, Wayne and Shirley Stancil, and Shane Singley; 8 Grandchildren; and 4 Great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Summy and Rev. Kevin
Harris officiating.
Burial will follow in Needmore Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Travis Stancil, Michael Lee Stancil, Michael Singley, Marshall Singley, Joseph Maney, and Billy Piepmeier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leon and Shirley Casteel, and Billy and Mary Murphy.
Mr. Stancil will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday.
