Crimson Tide fans packed the Centre McDonald’s Monday night to meet “Big Al.”
The University of Alabama mascot was on hand to have pictures made and sign autographs as part of a celebration at the newly-renovated restaurant.
Ronald McDonald himself was on hand for a similar celebration on Saturday.
Monty Gulledge with McDonald’s says the event was also a fundraiser for the the Ronald McDonald House, which provides a safe, affordable, supportive “home-away-from-home” for sick or injured children and their families when they travel to Birmingham for medical treatment.
In addition to the renovation of the building, the Centre McDonald’s is now open 24 hours a day/seven days a week.
Gulledge says they have already hired 18 new employees and plan to hire 18 to 20 more.
