The Cedar Bluff Town Council has approved a request to raise the percentage the Utilities Board receives for doing garbage billing for the town.
The Utilities board currently gets 4-percent of the billing, which they say is not enough to cover what it takes to do the billing.
The council voted Monday night to raise that to 7-percent.
In other action, Mayor Martha Baker tabled discussion regarding possible options for garbage pickup.
She says she is talking to Waste Management and Public out of Scottsboro about getting bids for garbage pickup.
She says she hopes to revisit the issue during the next council workshop.
The council did vote to change the town’s primary bank to Generations Bank.
Mayor Baker then read a proclamation designating the week of as National Health Center Week 2013.
