Mrs. Velma Ruth Griffin, age 72 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, June 12th at her residence. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Hughston and Rev. Larry Garrard officiating. Burial will follow at the Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday. Survivors include her husband: Marion Griffin; son: Johnny Howell of Centre; daughter: Leann Alexander of Centre; Sister: Elizabeth Brinkley of Cairo, GA., grandchildren, Nikki and Jacob Alexander and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Griffin was a native of Shannon, GA, a retired registered nurse and was a member of the Tates Chapel Baptist Church.
