Melissa Ellen O’Dell, age 41 of Centre, passed away Monday, June 3rd in Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 5th at Mt. Olive Methodist Church, with Rev. Danny Sprayberry, Rev. Doug Matthews and Rev. Tommy Hutt officiating.

The body will lie-in-state for 1 hour prior to the service, at the church; burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers include Dakota Gowens, Scottie Gowens, Alvin Gowens, Chris Gowens, Dewayne Sudberry and Terry Gowens.

Survivors include her husband, Johnny Ray O’Dell; son, Trint O’Dell of Centre; daughter, Lindsey O’Dell of Centre; mother, Shelia Rogers Adams of Centre; step-mother, Sharon Hardy Gowens; brothers, Scottie Gowens of Cave Spring, GA, Alvin Gowens of Piedmont, Chris Gowens of Piedmont; sisters, Amanda Gowens of Pell City, Shanna Young of Centre; grandparents, Bud Rogers of Centre and Ed Gowens of Piedmont; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Gowens and brother, Calvin Gowens.

Mrs. O’Dell was a native of Floyd County, GA, and was a member of Mt. Olive Methodist Church.
