Three people have been arrested on drug charges after the execution of a Federal search warrant near Aroney in Southern DeKalb County.
According to Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, the search warrant was the result of an investigation into drug activity in Marshall and DeKalb County and was served by members of the DeKalb County Sheriff Office, Marshall County Sheriff Office, Marshall County Drug Unit and the Safe Streets Task Force headed up by the FBI.
Officers found over 2 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, $1600.00 cash, and a firearm during the execution of the warrant.
K-9 Mako and his handler discovered the drugs hidden in a residence off of County Road 9033.
Federal charges are pending on the suspects arrested and they were arrested on State charges at this time.
29-year old Fernando Castro Alanis and 25-year old Osblando Castro Alanis, both of Boaz were arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
21-year old Miguel Angel Ramos of Albertville was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
All three were transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center where they remain at this time.
The street value of this amount of meth is approximately $4,000.
