16 teams competed in Saturday’s Fishing for A Cure Crappie Tournament to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The weigh-in was held at Little River Marina and the big fish of the day was caught by a breast cancer survivor.
Rhonda Steed and her husband Stanley of Cave Spring reeled in the big fish, weighing 1.96 pounds.
Rhonda who was diagnosed with breast cancer in July of last year is now cancer free.
In addition to catching the biggest crappie of the day she was also the special honoree of the tournament and received a plaque from Complete Cash, the event sponsor.
Also during the weigh-in, with a seven fish limit, Justin Matthews and Shane Jolley finished first with 8.65 pounds of crappie.
Joe Hayes and Phil Trapp came in second with 7.64 pounds while 3rd place went to Kevin Randell and John Hendrix who caught 7.29 pounds of crappie.
