CENTRE– The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has switched to all-green uniforms after years of outfitting deputies in tan and brown. A supply problem prompted the switch, but it also gave the office a chance to choose a lighter uniform.
The Sheriff’s Office said its previous uniform manufacturer stopped making the brown color it had used. As a result, matching that particular shade became difficult.
The office chose a lighter, more flexible fabric to help deputies stay comfortable on duty. It also shared a photo of four deputies wearing the new green shirts and trousers outside the Sheriff’s Office.
