CENTRE– Andrew Jones urged patience following Tuesday’s State Senate District 10 election, citing a close margin and provisional ballots awaiting review.
In a statement, Jones thanked voters in Etowah, Cherokee, and DeKalb counties for supporting his year-and-a-half campaign. He also expressed gratitude for their love, prayers, and encouragement throughout the race.
Meanwhile, Jones said Tuesday night’s vote margin appeared to fall within the threshold for an automatic recount. Additionally, he said he understood that a “good number” of provisional ballots still needed review.
Jones also emphasized the importance of counting every vote, describing “one person, one vote” as a cornerstone of democracy. He asked voters for patience while officials count every vote and check for mistakes.
He closed his statement by thanking supporters and asking God to bless Alabama.
