CENTRE– Gadsden State Community College will hold two December commencement ceremonies Thursday, Dec. 17, at its Cherokee Campus in Centre.
Both ceremonies will take place at Richard Lindsey Arena, 801 Cedar Bluff Road. However, graduates and guests should note that ceremony times will differ by program:
- 10 a.m. — Academic and Health Sciences programs
- 3 p.m. — Technical programs
The college says increased enrollment and strong participation in commencement prompted the change. In addition, more family members and friends are attending to celebrate graduates’ accomplishments.
As a result, the college will divide commencement into two ceremonies to provide additional seating and ease parking and arrival. The format also aims to make the celebration more comfortable for graduates and their guests.
Richard Lindsey Arena has long hosted Gadsden State’s commencement ceremonies. The new format will allow the college to continue that tradition while accommodating its growth.
